The admission information provides comprehensive guidance for applying to study at Hitmaker Global Academy. Please select the correct category and follow the step-by-step guide to the application process.

The application is separated into two categories:

  1. Application for Singaporean/Singapore Permanent residence; or
  2. Application for International Student (E-Learning)

Admission Requirements

Level 3: Foundation and Vocational Qualification

Age Minimum 16 years old
Academic Minimum complete Junior Middle School/Grade 9/Singapore GCE N’Level
English competency Pass in GCE N’ Level English, IELTS 4.5, TOEFL 35-45, Duolingo 75, B1 CEFR or equivalent.
Music competency ABRSM Grade 5 Practical & Theory of Equivalent or Assessment by Audition & Interview
Others Candidates who do not meet the minimum requirement must attend a placement test administered by the faculty for further assessment.

Levels 4 & 5: Diploma and Vocational Qualification (except Diploma in Music Teaching)

Age Minimum 16 years old
Academic Accelerated Foundation Programme of Music & Creative Arts (awarded by Hitmaker Global Academy; or other music-related diplomas or Completed Grade 10 (International Student, China, Indonesia, and equivalent); Local student to have completed and passed Singapore GCE NA/NT level
English competency C6 at GCE ‘N’ Level English, IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 46-59, Duolingo 85; B2 CEFR or equivalent
Music competency
  1. music performance grade 6 and music theory grade 5 acquired from recognised music exam boards such as ABRSM/LCM/RSL/Trinity or equivalent.
  2. Assessment by Audition & Interview
Others Candidates who do not meet the minimum requirement must attend a placement test administered by the faculty for further assessment.

Diploma in Music Teaching

Age Minimum 18 years old
Academic Diploma or ‘A’ Levels or equivalence
English competency C6 at GCE ‘O’ Level, IELTS 5.5, TOEFL 46-59, Duolingo 85 ; B2 CEFR or equivalent.
Music competency ABRSM Grade 8 Practical & Theory or Equivalent or Assessment by Audition & Interview
Others
  1. Candidates who do not meet the minimum requirement are required to attend a placement test administered by the faculty for further assessment.
  2. Students with prior teaching experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Audition & Interview

Level 3: Foundation and Vocational Qualification

Requirements
  • For instrumentalists and vocalists: a 10-12 minute performance with two contrasting pieces from a different period or different composer;
  • Sight-singing or sight-reading tests.
  • For composers: the submission of a portfolio of works prior to the audition.
  • Viva voce: prepare a statement of self-introduction

Levels 4 & 5: Diploma and Vocational Qualification (except Diploma in Music Teaching)

Requirements
  • For instrumentalists and vocalists: a 10-12 minute performance with two contrasting pieces from a different period or different composer;

Diploma in Music Teaching

Requirements
  • Interview and audition from a senior academic member of the academy;
  • Prepare a most updated comprehensive curriculum vitae for the interview including any portfolio or music productions (if any)
How to Apply

For Singapore/Singapore Permanent Residence
Student can proceed with the application by completing the online application form: Application form | Click here. Upon completion of the application form,  student may proceed to submit supporting documents by email to admission@hitmaker.edu.sg. List of the documents needed are listed below:

  • A copy of NRIC/Passport;
  • A copy of academic certificate/result slip/transcript i.e. N/O’ level examination or any equivalent national examination result slip/transcript;
  • A copy of relevant music-related certificates i.e. performance/practical/theory exam from internationally recognised examination boards;
  • Photographs (one passport-sized photo and one artistically taken photo from performances or smart casual); and
  • Any other relevant documents needed to support the application if necessary requested by the school.

Short-listed candidates will receive an email with the instructions to proceed with the audition and interview. Student is required to submit the list of repertoires which will be performed during the audition by replying to the email. A return audition confirmation email indicating the date, time and venue will be sent to the student.

 

Student Contract
  1. Advisory Notes
    Student will be advised to read the Advisory Notes prior to signing the Standard Student Contract. The Advisory Notes highlight the key areas of information in the Student Contract. Students need to sign the Advisory Notes to acknowledge that they understand the contents of the Contract. If a student is below 18 years of age, the Advisory Notes will be signed by a parent or guardian.
  2. Standard Student Contract
    To comply with the requirements of the Committee of Private Education (CPE), all local & international students enrolling in private education institution (PEI) in Singapore are required to sign a Standard Student Contract (Version 3.1) which stipulates:

  • Section 2) Refund Policy,
  • Section 3) Additional Information,

    • Schedule B) Course fees
    • Schedule C) Miscellaneous fees
    • Schedule D) Refund Table

The CPE requires all private schools and their students to sign a student contract for any course that is longer than two months. The student contract sets out the contractual commitments of both the student and the private school. Once signed, both parties will be contractually bound to the agreed terms and conditions stated in the document. For example, if the refund policy in your student contract states that there will be no refund of course fees once the courses have started, you will not be entitled to any refund even if you have not attended any lessons. The student contract also contains other key mutual obligations of the private school and the student on matters such as course details and payment terms. It is hence critical that you read and understand the terms and conditions carefully before signing and committing yourself to the contract. Do not sign the student contract if you do not agree with the terms or if the terms are different from what the agent or the school have told you. Clarify with the school.
Retain a copy of the signed student contract as well as all receipts issued by the school as these may serve as documentary proof in the event of a dispute.

If necessary, you can request the school for clarification or the translation of contract in your native language (i.e. in Chinese, in India, in Myanmar, or Vietnam). The school will arrange staff to explain using your native language. Students can also view and access sample copies of the contract at CPE website: Advisory Note and Student Contract. The school will also give an original copy of the contract to the student as it can be presented as a legal document in the event of disagreement.
The student’s guardian will also sign the contract if the student is below the age of 18. The authorized signatory will sign the contract on behalf of the Academy.
